Subaru of Indiana Automotive in Lafayette is getting set to celebrate a milestone. The plants five millionth vehicle will roll off the line Friday.
In addition to the vehicle, the company will honor about 200 employees who have been at the plant since the very first vehicle was produced in 1989. The plant employs more than 5,500 workers in all.
SIA produces the Subaru Outback, Legacy and Impreza models. The Impreza is the latest addition to the plant, with the first American-made version of the vehicle rolling off the line last month.
